Welcome to Earthlight Images, the online version of my gallery located in the Italian Market section of Philadelphia.
I was born and raised in the South Philadelphia. I started photographing on Christmas day 1969; the day my girlfriend Harriet gave me a Konica 1000 camera.
I began shooting cityscapes, children, friends and family, experimenting with both black and white and color film. It did not take long for me to realize that I had an eye for color and composition.
Over the years I have developed bodies of work including landscapes, seascapes, florals, abstracts and architectural graphics, but at present my passion is photographing two primary subjects.
The first is Philadelphia urban landscapes: especially Rittenhouse Square, Washington Square, boathouse Row, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and historic Philadelphia. I especially like to photograph Philadelphia during the peak of the four seasons.
The other is my Imaginary landscape series. I enjoy this series because visually it merges fine art photography with painting. These compositions vary in color, depth, intensity, texture, and transparency; effectively evoking the impression of cosmic nebula, coral reefs, arid forests, and mountain landscapes.
So, please take your time and enjoy yourself while visiting my website. And if you would drop me a line and join my mailing list.
Sincerely,
Armond Scavo
